The hot spring area was great with good scenery and dinner was excellent, but I was almost charged too much.

The view was spectacular, but the onsen was clean while the outdoor onsen was the only bright spot in the mountain at night, attracting a lot of bugs that rumbled into the water; I’m scared of bugs, so I had to run out and rush in. The morning dining area offered a great view, yet the space was insufficient for everyone, forcing us to eat in a dark room where no light could be felt, and the plain Japanese-style buffet wasn’t that tasty. Our room for three was a plain tatami room; the moment you enter, a stinky smell—like a very old abandoned house for ten years—overwhelms you, making it hard to breathe; the bathroom felt kind of old and scary, but the tatami and blanket were clean, so we could eventually get used to the room’s odor and spend the night, though it wasn’t a pleasant experience.

There was hardly anything I could praise; the only decent thing was the breakfast buffet, which was merely average. The whole facility feels far too old, the tatami is dirty, and I didn’t want to use the bathroom in the room; the large communal bath is no different from any other onsen inn.

“露天風呂良い！”

I appreciated being met outside as soon as I arrived, and the open‑air bath was pleasant—by around 9 pm it was practically private. On the downside, the toilet in the room looks dated and could use a replacement, and it would be helpful to leave a spare towel for guests who forget theirs at the changing area (I did, and had to trek back to the room for one).
