The lounge was nice, but the room felt old; the junior suite was clean, yet the Japanese-style room was a bit lacking.

The hotel’s location is handy for visiting Zao, and the buffet food is decent, but that’s about it. Check‑in was painfully slow, the rooms, furniture, and gear look dated, and soundproofing is awful—footsteps from above and corridor guests are audible. My bed wasn’t level and was partially sunken. With only three elevators, wait times can be long during peak breakfast, dinner, and check‑in/out times, especially when multiple tour groups are staying. The buffet crowd is overwhelming.

I liked the dinner, breakfast, free drinks and snacks in the lounge, and the free parking, but the room looked very tired and clearly needs a renovation.

The buffet needs a clear sign from the ceiling showing where each type of food is—salads, rice, noodles, meat, fish, egg dishes, miso soup, etc.
