The Blackberry Retreat Kandy

The accommodation was beautifully designed and offered a stunning view of the scenery, providing a welcome escape from the bustle of Kandy, which is 25 minutes away by tuk‑tuk. We were the only guests at the property at that time, and Asantha was the perfect host, very attentive to every need and preparing a wonderful breakfast each morning. I would recommend it to those who want to experience Kandy with added tranquility. A small but important detail in the Sri Lankan heat was the lack of a fridge; for the price, a fridge should be expected. Getting a tuk‑tuk via the 'pickme' app was a bit tricky, and the location seemed a bit far for some drivers, but Asantha helped us find a local tuk‑tuk driver, and it was no trouble getting one back from the busier parts of Kandy.

“Surroundings were lovely, a fair stay but expensive”

My stay at this hotel was a mixed bag. While the property's unique charm was certainly a highlight, I couldn't help but feel that it fell short in several areas. Upon entering my room, I was surprised to find that there was no mirror in the bedroom, and the bedside tables were only on one side, which made it difficult to get ready in the morning. The upstairs terrace, which had great potential, was left bare without any furniture or seating area.

“Buenas vistas, buen alojamiento con falta de organización”

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a mixed experience. The hotel is brand new and looks amazing, with breathtaking views and very comfortable facilities, and the staff were extremely welcoming when I arrived. However, I did find it quite far from the city center, making it tricky to get around without a car - the popular ride-hailing service doesn't operate there.
