Ayl is an ideal base for trips around the Saar-Mosel region, with Trier, Saarburg, Mettlach and Luxembourg easily reachable; the hosts are always very friendly and warm. The breakfast was great, offering fruit and vegetables from their own garden, plus homemade jams and jellies on the buffet. Guests could choose between filtered coffee and various coffees from the espresso machine, and even pick how their breakfast eggs were cooked—soft‑boiled, fried or scrambled from happy hens. The breakfast buffet was simply superb. The apartment’s furnishings were flawless, with everything present, even high‑quality kitchen appliances. The beds and mattresses are excellent. The hosts prioritize sustainability, which is evident everywhere. We found more than we expected and are sure we’ll return in August next year. The only downside was that we had to leave today.

It was very quiet and family‑friendly; the breakfast was tasty and plentiful. The parking lot was unpaved, and on‑site dining was unfortunately not possible. There were also no fly screens.
