The host and on‑site staff were incredibly warm and helpful! Breakfast was excellent and varied.

Beautiful flowers in the room. Breakfast was good. We stayed for 2 nights in August 26. Photos online don't give an honest picture of what you can expect. It looks like a nice, tasteful and well‑maintained hotel in a large garden, but that image is misleading. Hotel rooms are stuffy with a moldy smell and are worn out and missing many things. The bathroom is not clean and is shabby. The shower water has a very strong iron smell. No blackout curtains, so we had to cover all the windows with garbage bags to sleep somewhat well. Additionally, there was a lot of noise from the street. The hotel is basically a bunker with walls around it. Poor service. Staff do nothing to improve your stay. A party on the opposite side of the hotel kept going until 3am. Staff do nothing, even walked out of bed to the party. A fun and cozy family party, but honestly it should be mentioned by the hotel. The village itself seems taken over by the Russians, no atmosphere, worn‑out tourism.

A gorgeous villa with a very spacious family room and a lovely garden. The bathroom was beautifully decorated with flowers upon arrival. The hosts were kind and the breakfast was tasty. The only downside was the low water pressure, which left a tiny stream in the shower.

The staff were wonderful and very friendly. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The place is close to the bustle of Unawatuna. It is directly opposite a bar that began playing loud music ~9pm. Not just loud, nightclub loud. It boomed in our room as if we were actually in a club. They also began setting off fireworks at 10pm. We asked the staff at the hotel and they assured us the music would die down soon. When it did not, other guests spoke to the staff at the bar. The music continued. At 2.30am, with everyone in our room exhausted, my husband cracked and shouted at the people from the balcony. The music continued. It went on until 3am. We have a young child and we all didn't sleep at all. It isn't the fault of the staff (they don't have any authority on what other businesses do) but we feel (as did other guests we spoke to at breakfast) that the description of the property makes it feel isolated and peaceful which it definitely was not. Had it not been for the loud music all night on our second night, we would have rated higher based on the staff and breakfast. It's just that the location is very unfortunate.
