Located by the harbour in Lauterbach, Rügen, Im-Jaich Wasserferienwelt offers family-friendly apartments with kitchenettes, some situated directly on the water. The Kormoran restaurant serves seasonal meals on a waterfront terrace. A play area for children and trails through the Southeast Rügen Biosphere Reserve are also available. Free parking and proximity to Lauterbach Mole railway station make it an ideal base for exploring the island.

We floated on the water, gently rocking, with a fantastic view of the Goor bathhouse; the sunrises were simply gorgeous, and the facilities were absolutely sensational. The only drawback was that one toilet for six people felt too cramped.

The setting was idyllic, right in the middle of the harbor and the Baltic Sea, with good infrastructure—restaurants, shops, the harbor, groceries—all within walking distance.

The spot offers a great view of the stilt houses and the lagoon, and we headed to the beach via Sellin. In Lauterbach there are lovely walking paths and a charming small harbor. The food at Restaurant Kormoran was very tasty, and it takes 25 minutes to reach Ralswiek for the Störtebeker Festival. I can’t think of any negatives.

We spent beautiful days in our stilt house, the location was perfect for various excursions to Seebad Sellin, the Rasende Roland ride, Binz and Sassnitz; nearby shops were convenient and the daily bread service was especially nice—highly recommend! There was absolutely nothing to criticize.
