The location on the Rigi Bahn, by the lake with a boat dock in all directions, is a historic house with great potential that unfortunately remains unused. The noise from the Rigi trains in the early morning was a problem, and the backlog of repairs in this beautiful house is draining the architect’s heart.

The hotel was very pleasant by the lake, with an excellent breakfast facing the lake. The hotel has the charm of the old while having modern equipment (e.g., a bathroom). Our room faced the train station and the boat terminal; we would have preferred a view only of the lake. The restaurant was not open during our stay.

The staff were friendly and helpful, but the building feels very old; that old‑world charm is there, yet the floor creaks, the lighting is dim, and there’s no curtain to block daylight during the day.

The location is fantastic and the staff are very kind; we enjoyed watching the sunset from the terrace, though I wish they would reopen the terrace restaurant again.
