The staff were very pleasant and helpful, and the boats to the Borromean islands were conveniently positioned right in front of the hotel. The beautiful Pallavicino Park is only a fifteen‑minute walk away, and Isola Madre turned out to be great. The only downside was that the shower felt a bit tight.

Being right on the lake was a plus. On the downside, the hotel feels a little dated, and in the bathroom the tiny window was locked and there was no fan.

The spot and the breakfast were solid. However, the furnishings didn’t feel 4‑star and the bathroom was very cramped.
