The staff were friendly. Our room was 701 on the 7th floor, but the lift didn’t reach that floor so we had to climb stairs. The windows weren’t double‑glazed, rattled, and let in drafts. We could hear street noise and sirens all night, and local gangs used Southampton Row as a race track. The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable.

The shower and bed were fine. The whole hotel feels tired and needs updating and maintenance. Our bathroom door needed replacing.

A great hotel in a central location with easy access to the tube station and most attractions within walking distance. The rooms are comfortable and the beds are excellent. The elevator is slow, the room wasn’t 100% clean, and getting hot water to the shower on the top floor takes a long time, wasting water. Still, the hotel is good and worth the money if you can tolerate minor inconveniences.
