Built in 1565 within Colmar’s original fortified walls, this 4‑star hotel sits in the Little Venice quarter beside a canal, just 700 m from the Christmas Market. Air‑conditioned rooms feature brocade fabrics, antique furniture, canal views, en‑suite bathrooms and free Wi‑Fi. The on‑site restaurant serves regional gourmet cuisine, with a summer terrace overlooking the river. 24‑hour reception and nearby public parking complete the offering.

The location is awesome. Our room was in an attached house that was unappealing and awkward to access and cramped, not like the photos we thought we booked. Other than that it was okay. Breakfast was average.

The historic building next to the “Little Venice” canal is beautiful, and the rooms, while smallish, are historic, well furnished, and in a great spot for walking around Colmar. The restaurant felt a bit overpriced, especially given the incredibly slow service.

The German‑speaking staff—a very large man and another bald man—were attentive and competent. A front‑desk employee who later served breakfast—a small man—behaved very unpleasantly and rudely. I asked to use the toilet; since I don’t speak French, I couldn’t explain that I was a hotel guest, and he reacted rudely.

The room was great, the hotel tidy, and the bar decent. I think the price is very high for the facilities offered. The restaurant is very good, but the bar is often too expensive.

Locatie en luxe van de faciliteiten. De grote van de kamer. Voor die prijs verwacht ik in ieder geval een plek waar je samen kunt zitten. Was enkel ruimte voor het bed
