“Demolition Site”
The remotes were dead, the minibar was oddly stocked but the fridge was empty, giving a movie‑survivor vibe. After a long day of travel I was hoping for a hot shower to soothe my muscles, yet I was met with an arctic ice bath because the hot taps didn’t produce any water at all—nothing, just silence. For $168 a night, the “spa treatment” feels like a shock under freezing water. The motel itself is a masterpiece of disappointment; the online photos look like the 1980s, while the reality feels like a post‑apocalyptic film set. Rubbish littered the grounds, old sofas and mattresses were dumped near bins (perhaps “art”?), broken paving turned into an obstacle course, and a gazebo canopy that looks like it lost a fight with a lawnmower. The outdoor carpet was shredded like a crime scene, rust stains marred the railings, and garden beds were filled with rubbish and dead palm fronds. I’ve seen cleaner back alleys behind a pub on a Sunday morning. Cockroaches and stray branches seemed at home. Customer service was a shrug: when I complained, I was told a plumber “was coming today.” No apology, no offer to help, no water bottle—just the kind of charm that could be summed up as “you’re on your own, buddy.” If you’re after the full “renovation site chic” experience with rubbish décor, dust‑covered pathways, and amenities that exist only in imagination, this place is for you. Otherwise, save yourself the pain. I should have read the Google reviews first. The highlight of the stay was discovering that the only running water was the cold tap, and the only thing running after that was me… straight out the door. I contacted the team immediately after checking in, but the place had no hot water and no one was available to report it. I’m not sure how to attach pictures to this.
