Lakewood Residence, a boutique hotel in Kandy, sits just a three‑minute walk from Kandy City Center and 300 m from Bogambara Stadium. Guests enjoy luxurious, air‑conditioned rooms—some with balconies—featuring flat‑screen TVs, desks, private bathrooms, wardrobes and kettles. Amenities include an indoor pool, terrace, shared lounge, free Wi‑Fi, and a restaurant serving Thai, Chinese, vegetarian and halal dishes, plus continental breakfast. Nearby attractions: Sri Dalada Maligawa, Kandy Museum, Lakeside Adventist Hospital.

The suite gives a stunning view of the lake and Tooth Temple, staff are wonderful and try hard to fix issues, and there are plenty of lovely bakeries nearby for breakfast; however, we had two hot‑water problems during our four‑night stay, and while the staff worked hard to resolve them, it was frustrating given our time constraints.

A lovely place to stay; the reception, kitchen, and all staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was abundant, offering both traditional and European styles.

Right in Kandy’s center, walking to everything is a breeze, and the hilltop spot lets you avoid the city’s buzz. Just be very careful driving there.
