The view is magnificent! The room and other areas feature modern décor, and the cleanliness is excellent. Breakfast is quite good, offering warm bread, a variety of fruit, and homemade sweets. However, breakfast starts a bit late, and the hotel is somewhat far from the places where the tours on the Douro begin.

Large rooms, a spacious walk‑in shower, a pool, and great views. There was no room service on a Sunday, and the breakfast hours were inflexible.

The valley of the Douro itself. 1. First, the awful chemical smell—three of us felt it, and I even had an allergy flare‑up. When we mentioned it to the host, she was completely indifferent, saying it was just normal cleaning supplies. We’ve traveled a lot, but never experienced such a stench. We asked for a refund and to leave, but were denied. We opened the windows at night, it was a little breezy, but sleeping was extremely difficult. 2. The photos don’t match reality. From our room we could see a neighboring building, yet no one says the view from the pool opens onto a cemetery. We sat in the evening—the cemetery is lit up, candles burning… “a wonderful view” in quotes. Only the side shows the valley itself. 3. Terrible breakfast. I don’t know who these high‑scoring reviewers are—just one loaf of bread, jam, a thin slice of ham with cheese, no boiled eggs? The worst part is that jam bowls are portioned for four people, then sealed with film and stored in the fridge, only to be refilled the next morning. I have no idea who might have used a spoon in my bowl; it’s incredibly unhygienic. 4. The hosts were completely unhelpful, indifferent to guests’ problems, only caring about money. 5. There’s a service station on the road to the building. 6. The bathrooms lack any toiletries—only a bar of soap on the towel and one sachet of shower gel.
