Room 12 smelled faintly of urine, the TV was broken, the kettle didn’t work, and the wi‑fi was down, so basically everything that was promised failed.

Usually a 10/10, but this time it was terrible: no hot water in the women’s showers, so I had to use the men’s ones both days, which was uncomfortable and stressful; there was no Wi‑Fi at all, and the room had a smoky odor. I wasn’t happy at all.

The place was in a perfect spot for what I needed, with plenty of parking. The bedding and towels were clean. The bed was lumpy, probably from the mattress topper, but it was tolerable. The male toilets were awful—leaking urinals, water on the floor, flaking paint, missing ceiling tiles, and a nasty smell. It’s clear the area needs investment; lorry drivers deserve better than this.

There were rats running in the ceiling, but the staff were friendly and the rooms stayed clean.
