“Rioma”

The location was good. The only issue was all the hills and stairs.

The spot was excellent, right in the heart of Rio Maggiore's main shopping area. I felt like we were right in the middle of all the excitement. It was a bit noisy early in the morning because a restaurant sits directly across the street, but that didn't ruin the experience. The room was clean, though it was much smaller than we had expected.

The kitchen facilities were disappointing—no stove, no sink, just a coffee machine and a kettle, and you have to wash dishes in the bathroom sink.

“Centralt på gågatan”

The host, Daniela, was very friendly and helpful. The compact room came with a kitchenette, shower, toilet, and bidet, and the view looked out onto the central pedestrian street lined with bakeries, groceries, and restaurants.

The place was in a perfect spot in Riomaggiore, just above the train station and one of the easiest places we stayed during our trip; the 57 steps aren’t a problem if you ask for Room D, as in Daniela. The balcony was lovely, where we spent evenings with wine, gelato, and sometimes a cone of fried seafood, all just steps from the front door. We enjoyed sitting outside at night, hearing the sounds of Riomaggiore below us. The room was very nice, open, clean, and our hostess, Daniela, was wonderful—she even let us check out later, which we appreciated. Snacks were provided and communication was easy from start to finish. The location couldn’t have been better for exploring Riomaggiore and the rest of Cinque Terre, and we would definitely stay again.
