It was great! The staff were helpful and friendly, and the food was amazing. The rooms could have been a bit cleaner; better maintenance would improve the experience.

We found the breakfast options painfully limited and the tea/coffee sachets never refilled even after we asked; the staff claimed only one cup is provided and we had to pay to order more, which felt cheap and absurd compared to five‑star hotels that refill on request. The milk rice lacked milk, the sambol was dry and made with used coconut, and there was no tea station at breakfast—waiters didn’t offer tea, leaving most of us without a way to have morning tea. The hotel sits in a remote area with no nearby restaurants or shops, so when we tried to order bites the prices were too high; they charged 3650 for club sandwiches, which seemed unreasonable. We ended up heading back to town for decent food because the hotel seemed to try to rob us in broad daylight. Sri Lankans are generally hospitable, but these stingy practices tarnish the country’s image and make tourists hesitant to return. The in‑room telephone was broken, forcing us to walk down to reception. The manager had a terrible attitude, arguing loudly with guests over tea sachet refills and ignoring our concerns. The pool was dirty, littered with leaves and stones, and the water was translucent. The deck and restaurant by the Madhu River lacked fencing or safety measures, and crocodiles were present in the river. Bathroom odors came from the gullies. We chose this expensive hotel hoping for a good time, but the third‑class treatment was not worth the money we paid.
