Comfort Hotel

It was a cheap hotel, but finding it was very difficult because there was no signage on the building, breakfast was not included and had to be ordered a day ahead, yet no cook appeared in the morning; Wi‑Fi was weak, the hotel sits underground in an apartment complex, and the noise from the upper floors and neighbors was loud.

“Underground windowless rooms”

I paid a low price, but the room was underground, windowless, and felt airless. The sheets were dirty, hair lay in the bed, and mascara stained the pillowcase. The bathroom light never worked, and despite asking, no one fixed it during our two‑day stay. The location was far from the town center, in a residential/industrial zone, though Yandex offers cheap transport to get around quickly.

I had a place to sleep. The room was filled with cigarette smoke from a nearby shop (over‑the‑top), a cockroach ran across the floor, and there was no air conditioning.

There was no air conditioning, making it too hot and uncomfortable to sleep. Speaking with staff was a challenge because nobody spoke English; we had to translate every word. We waited almost an hour before checking in because they couldn’t locate our reservation in their system. Thankfully a local tour guide stayed with us and negotiated a room for the night. The only bright spot was that the guide had arranged a Yandex ride for us in the morning, and the reception helped book the transfer.
