Large double room in Portsmouth - Mayhall Rd

“Nasty, Funky and Unhygienic. Rude staff/landlord & NO parking at all”

Nothing positive to mention. The rooms smelled nasty, like a particular odor, and cleanliness was lacking with stains and dirt everywhere—very unhygienic. The shower looked like a WW1 relic, moldy and rusty, a health hazard. The staff/landlord was rude when I called with a question, without provocation. There was no parking, so if you drive, don’t bother; I spent 1 hr 30 min searching for a spot while the streets were packed. It’s like the advertised image is a façade. I hope they renovate and improve all aspects for future guests.

“Good value”

The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. The only issue was that the shower pole was a bit broken.

The only highlight was how easy it was to stash my bike in the living room. The breakfast was non‑existent, and the bedroom carpet was covered in dirty, muddy spots. The room smelled like vaping and tobacco, and there was a dirty mark on the sheet. The cloakroom was tidy, but there was no shower or bath. The house was clean enough but overall quite shabby.

The location was good, but going to the toilet in the middle of the night meant walking through water that had pooled on the kitchen floor.
