I’m asking for a refund because the bed was covered in hair, the sheets had stains, and it was absolutely disgusting.

“Cozy, quiet, and convenient!”

The staff were fantastic and the room was cozy with awesome views from the 3rd floor, tucked away on a side street just a stone’s throw from the beach; the price was great in early October. The Belmar does show its age with steep steps and dated furniture, but I was so busy on my trip I barely had time to worry about it. Shower pressure was a bit low, but overall I can live with it.

“A bit dodgy but also inexpensive”

The price matched what you get; a free cup of coffee in the lobby was a nice touch, and the staff were friendly. I stayed off‑season and parking was hassle‑free. However, the bed and pillows were uncomfortable, leaving me with a back ache. One bath towel had a nasty stain, and a service person refilled an opened water bottle with tap water—gross. I couldn’t open windows for a breeze, and the AC made a low howling noise, so I avoided using it.

“Very unpleasant stay in an hotel that should be closed for renovation and repairs.”

The location was fine, but the corridor ceiling was falling off and dirty. Keys and locks didn’t work, the carpet on the aisles was very old, the shower box needed replacement, and the refrigerator sat on a desk that was too big for the room. The AC was noisy, and the temperature fluctuated so much it made me sick. I had to redo the keys every day, sometimes more than once, and I was scared the shower floor might give way. It was an awful experience that clearly needs renovations. The weather was great for most days and walking on the boardwalk was nice.
