“Super séjour à Istanbul”
The spot is spot-on and easy to reach, and the staff are super friendly. The only downside might be the street noise, but it's nothing serious.
“Great location, Central party/pub/restaurants top class entertainment area and close to main attractions like Ga”
The location is great. The bathroom, especially the men's, was dirty.
Great location and cheap. But it was super noisy at night, the building and installations were worn down, and the lockers were super fragile—anyone could break in, which is not reassuring.
“Ideal. Met all my expectations for a brief transit visit to Istanbul.”
The highlight is the almost perfect location: within walking distance to Karikoy pier with ferries everywhere, Galata tower area, Sishane metro station, and even Taksim and Eminonu. The hostel sits in the middle of a lively zone packed with restaurants, coffee shops, and bars. A little noise is expected. The common area in the Sub Hotel lobby is great for nomads who want to work a bit. The male bathroom could use some attention: hooks or a bench to keep clothes dry.
It’s close to everything. Unfortunately, this was the worst hostel experience I’ve ever had. The rooms were filthy, the bunk shelves were dusty as if never cleaned before the curtain for my bed was broken, and the duvet was so dirty I’d rather sleep without it. My sunglasses fell under the bed, and picking them up from all that dirt and dust that had been there for who knows how long was horrible. The shower head in the bathroom didn’t work and sprayed everywhere; you had to hold it tight for it to work properly. I went to the women’s bathroom around 1 pm and found no toilet paper, no paper towels, and the trash was overflowing with pads, covers, and pads on the floor. I stayed for 4 nights and the trash was only taken out twice. It smelled awful. It was cheap, but I had stayed in hostels that were super clean, looked extremely nice, and were even cheaper, so it’s doable and possible even for a smaller price.
