The place is quite isolated from the village, which has no shops or restaurants, and that isolation is what makes the experience unique. It’s a renovated farm with refined details everywhere. The kitchen area lacks stovetops, but it does have microwaves, a kettle, and complimentary items for teas or coffee. Carla and her husband welcomed us warmly. We arrived on bicycles and they immediately gave us fresh water and offered dinner options since we weren’t equipped. The little garden overlooking the rooms is delightful. The paid breakfast comes in two styles; we chose the “Big” option and it was excellent. I’m not talking about Villa Cecilio, but I warn travelers that the Google Maps route from Puerto del Rosario to Villa Cecilio on a bike suggests a rough path that detaches from the main road, climbs over a mountain, and becomes quite disconnected at the end—my husband, however, loved it.
