“Quiet place and value for money.”
I stayed in a tiny 12‑room place right beside the Parimala Ranganathar temple, tucked into a quiet Agraharam‑style block. The room fit two people comfortably, with a handy wardrobe and table. There’s no on‑site restaurant, but three vegetarian spots and a home‑cooked takeaway are just 5‑15 m away. The “Vallalar” Sivan temple is a 10‑minute walk, though some parts of the road have roaming dogs. The front‑desk team were very helpful, giving advice on nearby temples and arranging an auto with Mr Ganesh for local drop‑offs; his rates were reasonable compared to those at the train station or bus stand. I’ve stayed in hotels near the old bus stand before, which are noisy at night with blaring airhorns; this place is about 1 km away and completely quiet. The only downside is there’s no lift, but there are four rooms on the ground (US First) floor, which is fine.
