The location was great, within walking distance of Super Walmart and Cracker Barrel, but the room’s cleanliness was poor: the bathroom floor was dirty and not mopped, a baby roach crawled in the tub, a medium roach was on the table near the lamp between the beds, wallpaper was peeling, and the hotel had a mole‑like smell; nevertheless, the staff were very warm and the breakfast was excellent.

The staff, location, and cleanliness were all excellent, but my room was on the second floor and the elevator from the second floor wouldn’t go down, so I had to take the stairs every time I needed something.

The location and breakfast were good, but the room wasn’t cleaned properly, the ceiling and walls had water damage, the hotel needed better cleaning, and some of the outer access doors didn’t work.

The rooms carried a strong cigarette smoke scent, and the staff on duty couldn't answer simple questions about breakfast because they were on the night shift.

The Wingate in Shreveport was terrible. From the parking lot, all the blinds or drapes on the windows were lopsided and crooked. The second floor had a strong weed smell in a non‑smoking hotel. The carpet in our room was heavily stained, but we were exhausted from a road trip and went to bed. About three hours later we woke to a horrible sour odor like vomit; housekeeping must have masked it before we checked in, but the smell eventually seeped through. We tried to tough it out because we were so tired, but the intense odor made us nauseous and impossible to sleep. We got dressed and left, told the front desk, but couldn't get a refund since we had paid upfront. This is the worst hotel we've ever stayed in. We booked it because the ratings were between 6.2 and 6.9 for cleanliness, etc., but now we think the ratings were falsified. I would never have booked this place otherwise. The towels were dingy and thin, looking like they had been washed a thousand times and never replaced. There were no soap bottles in the shower holder. Paying $91.00 per night for this disgusting place was too much.
