“Quiet, big rooms, in middle of Meringen and no TV for nice disconnection.”
The price was very competitive for Meiringen, and the hotel sits close to the train station on the main Meringen street. The owner runs a Chinese restaurant on the ground floor. The rooms are spacious; the toilet is a little small but adequate, and the shower pressure and temperature were fine. You can adjust the water temperature with the Enterprise controls, which, although surprising, work better than standard valves. The room was spotless. No TV, but the large size made luggage easier. A fridge in the corridor is available to all guests, and there’s a nice terrace on the first floor for everyone. The room faced the main street. Breakfast isn’t offered at Ilufa, but the owner recommended Migros, which was good. Parking is available but very limited near the hotel; the station has only 10 spots. It’s a quiet hotel in the middle of Meiringen, and the Wi‑Fi was good. Nothing else to note, just the limited parking, which I managed by arriving early after a drive through the Alps.
