Clean, modern hotel. Beautiful breakfast and helpful staff. Unfortunately, the location was a real disappointment. The hotel sits in a very unclean, run‑down, and rather dodgy area, nowhere near the main city of Ha Long. The streets immediately surrounding the hotel were littered with rubbish and had unpleasant smells, which made walking around uncomfortable. The location certainly didn’t meet our expectations, and the surrounding environment detracted from the overall experience.

The hotel is pretty cool, staff are decent, but among all the hotels I stayed at during my three‑week trip across northern Vietnam, the service here seemed the least engaged and a bit indifferent. Still, the window views are incredible, and the breakfast buffet is the biggest I've ever seen. The variety of dishes and drinks is huge and tasty. The staff could be a little more smiling and relaxed; the atmosphere feels a bit too stiff and formal, not fitting either Vietnam or the wonderful, vacation vibe of Ha Long Bay.
