“Motorbike tour of Italy and Sicily”

The room looked out over the pool and sea, perfect for catching sunsets in summer, the bed was comfortable, and the parking worked well for our motorbike; we didn’t get a chance to hit the pool or beach, but breakfast offered a wide variety of dishes, and the hotel was a short stroll into Cefalu’s charming old town. However, a nasty smell hit the room whenever the toilet was flushed for the first time or the sink was used after a long day or first thing in the morning, as if it was coming from the air‑conditioning; we only stayed two nights and mentioned it when we left, and the hotel promised to look into it. Many Sicilian spots have drainage problems because of old systems and heat, and we stayed in seven different places on the island.

The staff were quick to respond, fixing a leaking air conditioner in just ten minutes, and the location was fantastic.
