A lovely place out of the tourist crowds but still close to Nikko’s main sights, with a gorgeous river view from the room and an exceptional host named Izumi—thanks to him and the team for a fantastic stay!

Izumi was a warm, friendly host, and the Japanese‑style room was clean and comfy; both the Japanese and English breakfasts were delightful.

The host was incredibly welcoming and attentive, creating a calm, approachable vibe; the facilities were amazing and introduced us to Japanese living, with a balcony view that was a daily delight, showcasing woodland and river scenery. The Japanese breakfast was tasty, informative, and beautiful, and Izumi took the time each morning to explain what was included, delivering excellent Japanese cuisine. The location is perfect for nature lovers who still want town access; we walked a bit, but a bus is available for most of the way if needed. The beds were super comfy and we slept great, and the host even offered pick‑up and drop‑off at the train station. We stayed for 2 nights and could have stayed longer; we’d definitely return. Nothing negative—just a perfect match for a couple with medium‑sized luggage who loves nature, and the stay surpassed what the photos promised.

We spent 4 nights and had a wonderful experience; each morning Izumi‑san prepared a different Japanese‑style breakfast and explained the ingredients and local customs. He was exceptionally hospitable—picking us up and dropping us off at the train station, and even driving us to the bus station in the morning to secure good seats. Our balcony looked out over a peaceful forest with a stream, and Izumi‑san spoke English very well, teaching us a lot about Nikko and the surrounding area.

Very recommended accommodation. Beautiful location with a great view of a small river and forest. Izumi‑San is very friendly and helpful. It was very clean! Nothing!
