Hilton Chongqing

I’m thrilled to stay at Hilton Chongqing, surrounded by the Yangtze and Jialing rivers and towering mountains. The room and bed are clean, with classic décor, carpets, and furnishings that feel a bit old‑fashioned. The location is convenient, but the air conditioning doesn’t cool enough for October. The staff are friendly and helpful, and I highly recommend this place.

“Outdated facilities, lack of class and poor customer experience in pool/gym.”

The price was reasonable, yet a Hilton should offer much more. The building feels outdated with old carpets, dim lighting, and a noisy lobby crowded with signs; a pediatric store ruins the classy vibe. There’s a strong smoke odor in the hallways from guests, and the pool requires a cap that you must buy yourself – an incredibly poor customer experience I’ve never seen at a Hilton. Breakfast is decent with a solid range of dishes.

The staff, breakfast, and happy hour were good. The hotel is aging, and some furnishings were broken—one curtain rod was detached from a curtain, and a shower drain was clogged. The staff fixed the issues the next day.

The hotel sits in the old town, and everything you need is nearby. There are walking spots, but you can’t use the pool without a swim cap.

The staff were extremely friendly, especially the cleaning crew, the 13th‑floor concierge, and the older doorman; breakfast was lovely and the place is well located. The pool required a swim cap, but we had to buy one ourselves, which isn’t mentioned in the facilities (138 Y). People were walking around the pool in shoes, and the lifeguard said nothing about it. The loungers are covered with old fabric, and hygiene could be better. In the lounge we ordered two beers and a hot snack; after a quarter‑hour we asked where the snack had gone. We received our beer with a still cold snack, which was then reheated, and by then we were an hour and a half late.
