Maitai Rangiroa is situated between Avatoru and Tiputa villages, on a vast Southern Hemisphere lagoon. The hotel is 5 minutes from the domestic airport, with available airport transfers. Guests enjoy Polynesian-style bungalows, a restaurant, free snorkelling equipment rental, and parking. Weekly activities include a Poisson Cru Show and Tahitian dance lessons. Lagon Blue Restaurant and Mawake Bar overlook the lagoon.

There wasn’t much to say about the setting, and the location was disappointing—far from everything. The food made 2 or 3 people sick in 3 days, the staff was unhelpful, the prices were very high (especially for food), and the noise from renovation work, roosters at 3 am, and barking dogs made it impossible to rest.

The location was super convenient next to an airport boutique with pearls and a great snack shop. The bungalows felt a bit dated and there were a lot of mosquitoes. Breakfast was underwhelming – the bread and pastries weren’t fresh, and the fruit was bad. Bikes should be available for use instead of being rented.
