The staff were charming, the location pleasant, and the building impressive. However, the website showed many photos of rooms with original décor tied to the hotel’s history, but none of the three rooms we booked matched that; they were all standard and lacked the sought‑after originality, and two of the three rooms smelled like stale air.

I stayed at a solid hotel on the most interesting street in town, close to the main sights and a paid parking spot nearby; the staff were friendly, which is rare in Germany, and they were helpful.

A charming hotel right in the old town of Garmische Pertenkirchen. Our rooms were spacious, comfortable, and came with a nice outdoor seating area. The amenities were excellent, including a pool, sauna, bar, and restaurant. It’s within walking distance of the train station, the ski jump, trailheads, and many restaurants.
