“rooms were comfortable ,toilet and shower room were very small. no wardrobe facilities”

The location was right in the town centre, and we knew the ground floor was a wine bar, so we expected some background noise. However, the returning guests were surprisingly loud. We were also caught off guard when we couldn’t exit before 8.30 am because the main entrances to the ground floor were locked. We eventually had to call reception and were directed to use the ‘fire door’ on the first floor, which led to a cramped area full of waste bins. They explained that the doors were a security measure to protect the bar’s tills, but a clearer notice at check‑in would have helped us anticipate this.

“Would of been good if we had any sleep at all.”

The young man at reception when we arrived was very nice. The fire alarm rang in the middle of the night and stayed on for a long time, with no staff coming to check or silence it. After the alarm stopped, a flashing light on the ceiling kept going all night, leaving us sleepless. We left at 8.30, skipping breakfast because we were exhausted and just wanted to get home. The main door onto the street was left wide open.

The hotel was pleasant, the room lovely, and breakfast was excellent. The staff were very friendly, and I couldn’t find any faults.

“Cold and sleepless, not offer of refund or an apology”

The room was cold and full of cobwebs. The fire alarm went off at 1 am, and no staff came to assess the situation; I had to silence it myself. When I called the out‑of‑hours number, I was met with a ‘not my issue’ attitude.

Rooms very nice, clean, comfortable had everything you needed. The bar closed as 6 as it was a Sunday but wasn't a problem as there was plenty around
