We didn’t bother with breakfast. The toilet clogs the first time you flush it, and when I called the front desk they said we could use a plunger we’d bring ourselves, which didn’t work. Maintenance didn’t arrive until 11:45 pm, so we couldn’t use the toilet all night and had to stay up until they left, leaving us exhausted the next day. The bedroom smelled like urine, likely from a backed‑up sewer. I had to unplug lamps to make space for chargers. The dining table was broken; we had to move it to open the sofa bed, and a leg fell off—already broken.

The spot was convenient for walking my dog, and they refunded the pet fee after the room had a bad odor. They claimed the hotel was under renovation, but that didn’t excuse the dirty, dingy condition and the lingering smell. The parking lot was poorly maintained, with a guy hand‑restaining broken pavement, and the exterior offered nothing appealing. It turned out to be the most expensive place we stayed over a two‑week period and across many hotels.

We stayed on the way back to Houston with my family and the place was clean enough to sleep in, but it looks like some new centers are being built nearby and most hotels in the town are fully booked, so they’re charging a premium that isn’t worth it unless you have no other options.
