Plough and Harrow

“The Plough and Hearth was an ideal starting point for visiting the beautiful Welsh countryside!”

The full Welsh breakfasts were excellent, especially the sunny‑side‑up eggs. We also enjoyed the variety of toasted breads, yogurt, fresh fruits, granola, and other accompaniments. There was a dinner menu, and we could have our evening meals at the pub instead of searching for food and drink elsewhere. The hostess was pleasant, and we liked meeting the pub dog, Paddy. A sunnier day would have given us a better view of the Brecon Beacons National Park from the heights we visited, but the lower elevations were beautifully green and gorgeous. My son especially enjoyed exploring the various waterfalls.

Everything was perfect. The owner Sue is really kind and makes you feel at home. I recommend. We would have liked to stay longer. Nothing else to add.

“Very relaxing stay”

Good breakfast. The lounge was large with comfortable seating that was part of the room. Very clean and the owner was friendly. The best part was Paddy the dog, who always greeted us with a big tail wag. The toilet flush required a bit of effort, a minor issue.

The host was friendly and the breakfast was delicious. You can also dine in the evening. Because I was a bit tired of eggs, she added ham and Welsh cheese for us on the second day’s breakfast. The separate lounge room from the bedroom was very nice. It looked clean and tidy. The food aromas lingered a bit. From here you can see the Brecon Beacons nicely. Also do the Waterfalls walk. Very beautiful and easy. Everything is dusty, curtains, floor covering, many cushions, etc. Not very good for people with allergies. But that’s the case all over England.
