The location was nice. The staff were very kind and welcoming, and the rooms were basic but acceptable.

We booked one night but ended up staying five nights. The bed was comfortable, the staff were helpful, and hot water, coffee powder, and bananas were provided for a small breakfast. Soap and shampoo were also available. The room and bathroom could be cleaner, but we know that’s the standard for cheaper accommodation in Laos, so we don’t have many complaints. The Wi‑Fi was a bit weak inside our room.

The staff were very friendly, the location is great—close to the Nam U river bridge and the trailhead for Phadeng Peak, and the common areas are spacious with a table, chairs, and a kettle for your own breakfast. Bananas are always on hand.

This luxurious hostel—actually a hotel—offers a good breakfast and plenty of space in the dorm, but it’s not a social place at all.
