The team handled my early arrival well, rushing to prepare the room and offering free water and fruit while I waited – all very friendly. The room was small but well furnished, and the combined shower/toilet fit fine. Important note: this is a hotel for drivers; if you come by train from Pirmasens Hauptbahnhof, you’ll need a taxi to avoid climbing the steep hill – about 1 km uphill, which is quite a hassle. At night, workers were still in the building, causing some disturbance, but after 23 00 you could sleep undisturbed. A slate floor lamp that was supposedly a design joke turned out to be ripped out by the previous guest; such items should be replaced before a new guest arrives, but that was probably due to the rush of my check‑in and hardly spoils the overall positive impression. I didn’t get breakfast at 5 00, which is understandable – I’d have liked to try it later, and it already looked very nice in the breakfast room. Next time I’ll stay longer if possible.

“Perfect location, ideally near to the autobahn, very easy to find, wonderful restaurant.”

The hotel delivered exactly what I needed; I just had to figure out that the keys were in a snap box for pickup, but the email had all the details, which was good. The hotel was unstaffed when I arrived, as the email had warned. The restaurant staff next door were very helpful, and they cooked a wonderful meal that evening. The room was perfectly comfortable and just what I wanted, but the road outside – over which the hotel has no control – was rather noisy.

The bed was good and the bathroom was in good condition, but there was no air conditioning.
