The owners, Caron and Dave, make you feel welcomed and are very helpful; the breakfast was delightful, the bed comfortable, and the location offers a view of the ocean.

“Gute Basis für die Gegend um Gansbaai/Hermanus/ Cap Agulhas”

We felt very comfortable in the Saxon Lodge Albatros room—it’s large, bright, and has a great terrace. Unfortunately, it was a bit cool during our stay, as were the rooms and the bathroom. Hot water and a hair dryer were available. Dave, Caron, and the staff were all very friendly and nice. The breakfast was very good and plentiful—we missed nothing. We couldn’t test the pool because of the chilly weather. As a base for Gansbaai, Hermanus, and Cape Agulhas, we highly recommend the Saxon Lodge. Good quality coffee and tea were provided, and the room was cleaned daily with fresh damp shower towels replaced. Thank you. The room heating and bathroom heating were missing, but there were pillow bottles and kettles.

The bed was very comfortable and check‑in was easy; breakfast was also good. The shower needs an upgrade.

“An an exhausted tour guide, felt so thankful to be assisted by Agnes on late arrival. Perfect”

Breakfast was exactly what I had requested the night before. Agnes, who greeted me well after hours, was incredibly thoughtful and kind. My clients, whose upscale guest house couldn’t store their luggage, were carried up the stairs to my room by Agnes—fabulous. Thank you, Agnes. A small cake of soap in the bathroom basin could have been provided, and the hot basin tap needed fixing, but I let them know.

The place was great overall! The host was very friendly, always available and kind. The décor, the room, everything was fantastic!
