“A very niche place”
It’s definitely one of Hakone’s hidden gems; just around the corner is Nobu’s new restaurant, and the open‑air museum is about 30 minutes on foot. The owner is really nice, loves her dog, and even packed my breakfast for takeaway when I asked. I’m allowed one hour of private onsen use per day, but I’m told not to bring bubbles or similar items inside. I keep bumping my head every time I climb the mezzanine, which is a bit of a pain.
I relaxed a lot in a hammock amid a lush green setting, enjoying the stylish interior. I’m grateful for all the kindness shown, and even the shy little dog was adorable.

The location was perfect, and we were kind enough to set off fireworks as a courtesy.
The tea room was ideal for my morning tea, and the breakfast, prepared by the owner, was excellent. The host was very attentive, always asking what we were planning and what we had done that day. The room was tiny, but that was expected in Japan.
“また行きたい”
Everything had good taste, and the staff were again very pleasant. The scheduled bath times were fine, but when I was in the tub a man arrived; I didn’t get seen, but it would have helped to have a lock or a privacy curtain.
