“A very memorable experience - just lovely.”
We enjoyed two nights at La Maison de Ganil, a bed and breakfast on part of the Lot river just below the hill‑top town of St‑Cirq Lapopie. Walking along the river, you can see canal boats motor through the lock heading to Bouzies from Cahors – very picturesque, and you can walk to Bouzies along the river from here. The walk is also part of the St. James Walk to Compostello Spain (St. Jacques de Compostello). My husband and I loved the breakfast – homemade right in front of us by Sean – eggs, bacon, croissants, yogurt, OJ, coffee, plus bread and jam. It was delightful, and chatting with Sean and Julie, our hosts, was even better. Both speak English, having lived in the United States at some point. Our bedroom and bath were quite large; although I don’t think it had AC, it was comfortable in September with the windows open. I would highly recommend.
