“Wir hatten trotzdem einen tollen Urlaub!”
The small, cozy property had a lot of charm and was perfectly located right on the sea, not far from Side and just around the corner from a small shopping street. We booked a large maisonette room. The staff were great, very friendly and did everything possible to make us comfortable. There are many cats there; if you don’t like them you should avoid the property. We loved it ;O) We also received a small bottle of water each day per person. The seating areas in front of the rooms were great! The beach was nice, with solid wooden loungers, comfortable cushions, and attractive beach chairs. However, you can’t move the loungers, or you’ll get in trouble immediately, so you end up in the scorching sun. A small tip: bring a towel and clips, attach them to the umbrella and create your own shade. You also can’t bring your own food or drinks to the beach because the restaurant is included and you’re supposed to buy there (three very small iced coffees, 18 €!). So please watch the prices carefully; it’s not really cheap. The rooms could be made more practical with a little love. We had a great room, with a very large bathroom, three sleeping places upstairs and a sofa bed downstairs. For three or four people, however, there was not enough storage space. We were three girls, and the open wardrobe was overfull! The bathroom has only three hooks for towels, which is too few if there are four people in the room. It would also be nice to have a few hooks on the wall in the lower room. In the autumn, or May, when it’s cooler, it would be great if you could hang a jacket or handbag somewhere. There is also no storage in the bathroom except the washbasin. Each of us left our toiletry bag in the wardrobe after use. The bathroom could easily have a few shelves added; there is enough space for that. The floor and walls in the bathroom are painted with grey paint that flakes off. These are only small things that don’t cost a lot of effort or money. The biggest downside is the breakfast! In my 20 years in Turkey I have never experienced such a monotonous, unimaginative, and poor breakfast buffet! It’s open, without refrigeration or heating. In the summer, at 40 °C, it would probably be fine. Flies were already on the first type of sausage and the second type of cheese. And the typical Turkish white bread was the only bread variety. Many people were really annoyed and some eventually made their own breakfast in front of their rooms, or went out to eat. From day three we got daily rolls or simit and cream cheese or sausage, so we had a bit of variety. Twice we also went to Simit Noktasi Side on the main street for breakfast, which was a treat! Coffee was served in paper cups, which is really unacceptable. The restaurant has a dishwasher! We took our cups from the room to breakfast.
