“Good if you are used to hostels, bad if you expect a regular hotel room.”
It is important to have the right expectations here. If you compare this to a hostel, you will be happy. However, if you see this as a super cheap hotel room alternative you might not be. The cleanliness in the room was good, the kitchen as well mostly, except they could clean the fridge sometimes. Unfortunately, i didnt expect mosquitos to be such a huge problem. When I arrived there were already 10 or so in my room, the kitchen is also completely filled with them all the time. The provided electronic devices apparently do not help. Even bathing in deet before going to bed barely worked. I still woke up with 2-3 new mosquito bites every morning. They could do much more here. The bathroom window has a 1cm crack when closed for instance, no insect shields at all. I know the area is very humid but the container area was particularily bad. Second, the bed sheets felt cheap quality, the bed itself was extremely hard and gave me back pain. Besides the hardness level it also didnt feel completely flat when lying in the middle so all considered I did not sleep too well here. Last but not least you get one tiny shampoo sachet per person per stay. Also the towels started smelling bad and not dry anymore on day 2. On day 4 of my stay I couldnt get myself to use them anymore. I probably could have asked them for an exchange but an official daily towel and toiletries change should be offered by the hosts themselves. Again - this is much more of a hostel type than a cheap hotel stay. Next time I will probably spend more and stay in one of the pousadas
