We couldn’t check in because the owner asked for a “guarantee deposit” that he promised to return, but there was no mention of it in the listing description. That alone would be fine if it had been noted. The next red flag was that he sent a card in Messenger instead of charging through the booking platform, so we had to find a new place late at night.

The location was good for us. The hotel was under construction, and we weren’t warned. The room was dirty, as if a crew had been working and trampled the floor; construction dust was on all surfaces. Luckily the heater was on and the lights were not turned off, so we didn’t freeze. It probably used to be a nice hotel, but now it’s unsuitable for staying because of the renovation. We think such conditions should be warned about.

We were not given the room we had booked and were told to look for another hotel, after being told there was a renovation or other problems. Then the hotel cancelled the reservation as if we hadn’t arrived.

I liked that there was a kitchen, even though it was small, and it had a sink, microwave, kettle, fridge, and even a washing machine. The only thing I didn’t like was a single black female hair.
