The property and rooms were spotless, and the staff were attentive, which felt like a welcome break after months on the road. I usually stay at the Tiber the night before heading back to the US to enjoy the river view and fishing boats, but this time I was given a room that faced a grimy back alley and a fish wholesaler, which is odd since the hotel didn’t seem full. I ordered a cappuccino at the bar to avoid the machine in the breakfast room, yet I received no napkin or sugar packet with my coffee—small details that could have been avoided.

The hotel’s location is ideal for the airport and its shuttle service, and the many nearby restaurants were great. The rooftop bar was a fantastic spot to stop by for a drink and take in the excellent views.
