The host was incredibly kind and helpful, and the place felt modern and spotless with nice touches, especially the fresh finishes, clean bathroom, and carpets. It was quiet and peaceful, and I appreciated the color scheme—even the cups and kettle matched the palette. No complaints.

The location was the highlight of the visit, but there was no parking, even though the website mentioned it. The mattress was old and I kept rolling to the center of the bed all night, and the cups were stained.

The hotel was very clean overall, but the living room was an eyesore. The mirrored wardrobe was smashed, and there were bottle tops and other bits on the carpet from previous guests.

The location is fine, but the photos on the site are from previous owners and the hotel looks nothing like that now. I’ve visited Kenley many times when Tony and Mike owned it, then Josie, and it was pristine back then. There’s no bar; I was told to “go outside” for a drink, and even soft drinks were unavailable. The bar area has been converted into another bedroom. There’s no housekeeping and no staff around; the only thing you could do was call a phone number for any help. My partner and I were the only guests, and we left after one night—never again.
