“Not a good place for a work space but very nice staff and food”
The staff were lovely and the food was nice, but the old building made the room layout awkward and the steep, windy stairs were dangerous. It’s not ideal for work because there are few sockets and the desk is tiny.
“Comfortable pub with excellent food. Everything for a restful stay”
The room offered all the comforts you’d expect – a big bed and a spacious bathroom – and the food was outstanding. It got a bit noisy in the evenings when the pub filled up.
The character and staff were fantastic, especially in the evening at the restaurant where they were attentive yet never intrusive. The food and cocktails were superb, the room was nice with a massive bed, and the shower pressure was incredible. It was a very pleasant stay, and there was nothing to complain about.
“Great location and great food”
The staff were friendly and the food was tasty, but I kept bumping my head on low beams a few times and the bed was extremely small.
“Great Hotel”
The staff were great throughout our stay, very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was generous and tasty, and the dinner chicken was excellent and cooked perfectly. The prawn salad was nice but could have used a bit more seasoning. The garden was lovely, with nice furniture and great stone tables. Our room was comfortable with a large bed, attractive distressed‑style furniture, and a big wardrobe with plenty of hangers. The shower was hot, strong, and powerful, and there was a good selection of toiletries – shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, and creams. The pub had character and a solid drink list. The only downside was the football: a TV was in the bar, but we still had to go to another nearby pub to catch the early kick‑off, even though the match was on ITV.
