The hotel’s historic look is striking, and our room was superb: large, high, very bright, nicely furnished and impeccably clean. The rest of the hotel is presented with great attention to detail. The best part is the outstanding kitchen: fresh ingredients are handled with care and skill, beautifully plated and served friendly.

The breakfast buffet was perfect, with nothing missing. We ate in the restaurant twice in the evening, which was very tasty. The staff were extremely friendly (service, housekeeping—though we didn’t use housekeeping), and everywhere you met the employees, it felt like the owner couple was making you feel welcome. I accidentally knocked over a TV that was already damaged, and the incident was calmly resolved; my insurance has already reimbursed me. My room lacked a hair dryer, and there was no replacement—no problem, a friend had her travel dryer. The building is older and quite noisy; on the first night two young ladies were next to me and their conversation was clearly audible. After about half an hour it quietened. A few earplugs and some patience help.

The location was great, and both breakfast and dinner were fantastic. The people were friendly and spoke Dutch. Small downsides: the shower/WC area was tiny, and the shower door leaked quite a bit while showering. It was noisy, but compared to the rest it didn’t matter much.

An exceptionally good hotel run by a lovely husband and wife and their team. The accommodation exceeded my expectations (having stayed elsewhere in Bad Bertrich before). Breakfast was excellent, as was the choice of dishes for dinner. So much so, I ate in the hotel restaurant each evening! Parking on site is plentiful too. In the future I will always stay here when in Bad Bertrich

The location is perfect for hiking, walking, visiting the town or the spa. The owners and all staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food in the restaurant was great, as was the breakfast buffet. The rooms and the whole house were always clean. Parking was available, and our dog was welcome. The only slight drawback was the somewhat narrow showers in our booked rooms, though they were almost barrier‑free.
