“My Go To place for visiting Kamakura, Hayama”
I booked a private double room instead of the usual dorm because my traveling friend left early, so the space was surprisingly generous. The walls had interesting artwork, though the medium grey base coat made nighttime reading a little hard. A retro‑styled night lamp worked well for light but not for reading; the desk had its own lamp and a rolling chair. The bed felt firm and comfy, and I almost wanted to take it home. Entry was via a digital keypad with a code sent beforehand. Laundry costs JPY500 for washing and drying, taking up to 3 hours; I chose only wash and used the provided drying rack in my room, still paying JPY500. The kitchen is fully equipped: gas stove, toaster/oven, filtered water dispenser (cold, lukewarm, hot), sink, cookware, dishes, and flatware. Snacks and laundry payments can be bought through the Honor System. Common areas feature desks with individual lamps, large backpacks holders, sofas, and a dining table overlooking a garden behind the unit. This place is a go‑to whenever I visit Hayama or Kamakura, and Akira, the owner, is super chill and considerate.
