“Schöner fünftägiger Aufenthalt”
The hotel sits in a central yet quiet area. I received a larger room than booked, complete with a balcony that was lovely, though this east‑side street rarely gets sunshine at this time of year. The furnishings were good, though I wished there were more power outlets near the table. Some guests have mentioned that the breakfast is always the same, but I must admit that on the first day there was only salami, and on some days there were no cucumbers or tomatoes, and never cornflakes, yet there were always boiled eggs. Still, I always had enough variety and quantity to enjoy breakfast here. I also appreciate that, unlike many other hotels, there is no annoying, cheap standard radio; instead, pleasant, subtle classical music plays. The small sauna area with steam and regular sauna was nicely set up, and the illuminated wall with the village stone photo made me feel as if I were in a larger room overlooking a summer mountain view. The restaurant was closed in the off‑season, but first, there were plenty of alternatives nearby, and second, the operation, run by a Dutch couple, was wonderfully quiet—no noise, no crowds, no staff bustle. For those interested, the third floor has a shelf with German and Dutch books and interesting board games. A supermarket (Spar) is about a 4‑minute walk, and the train station is a minute further. The only downside is mentioned above (if any).
