“Entorno rural.”

It was quiet and there were no other guests, surrounded by nature. The owners are Dutch, which made communication a bit tough, though they tried to be polite and I didn’t always grasp their explanations. The place is a house that rents out four rooms and the owners live there too; the surrounding green areas were poorly maintained, full of leaves and branches, and the pool wasn’t cleaned daily. Parking was available but hard to reach, and everything felt very old‑fashioned.

“Podría ser un sitio genial si lo terminasen de arreglar”

The breakfast was decent, the bed was comfortable, and the overall calmness was undeniable. However, the previous reviews were confusing, the place had once been a paradise but had fallen into disrepair: the grass had taken over, the sunbeds were in a mediocre state and dirty, the pool needed cleaning, and everything was neglected. In the room the air conditioning didn't work, there were ants and a salamander sharing the space, and stray dogs and cats roamed the property without any notice—something that should be mentioned for allergies or phobias. It has great potential but requires a lot of work; the staff are kind, but that doesn't excuse how run‑down everything was, and the price doesn't justify the condition.

“Un lugar tranquilo y bonito”

Frank and his family were friendly and attentive, definitely coming back. Nothing I didn't like.

What I liked most was the family running the Cortijo—Frank, his wife and niece.
