“Lovely break in Harrogate”
The spot is right near town centre and the staff were friendly. I’d definitely suggest taking Harry’s free walking tour—he runs it Thursday to Sunday, and we joined at 10.30am on a Sunday, which went on for about 1 5 hours. It was a decent walk; the guide used a walking stick, so I’m not sure how wheelchair‑friendly it was since we crossed several roads and stepped onto grassy patches. The notice board is opposite Betty’s at a lamp post before the Cenotaph in Harrogate. The only hiccup was the Sat Nav misdirecting us to Divino restaurant as the final stop, so we couldn’t see the Cairn from the hill’s base. Maybe add a what3words address for the car‑park entrance—(Nation.puzzle.stump) is where we looked up.
“We’ve stopped here before and the room was OK with a new upgraded bathroom but the room was terrible”
The hotel’s location is good and there’s plenty of free parking. Unfortunately, the room we stayed in smelled like a mix of sweaty dogs and sickness. The bathroom was tired, and tiles were starting to fall off the walls.
The staff were friendly, the location was nice, and the food was lovely. A little upkeep might be needed, but nothing too serious that would ruin the stay.
The place had character, the room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bar staff were lovely even when they were busy. The corridors look a bit worn in some spots, and the bar area could use a bit of sprucing up.
“Very reasonable stay.”
Everything went smoothly—no fuss, straight in and out. The only issue was that I booked a double room expecting a double bed, but the hotel gave me two singles instead.
