Wine Rock Hotel

I really love this hotel—no idea what else to say. First, the Avlabari metro station is a 5‑minute walk away and the old town is just 10 minutes, the real heart of the city; the Rzezo Gabriadze puppet theatre is a 15‑minute walk and a must‑visit. The second time I stayed here in the same room, the balcony was right over the river and you could see Mt. Guria. The continental breakfast was standard, but the pastries were homemade and absolutely magical. If I ever go back to Tbilisi, it’ll be here, with the same welcoming and charming girls working in the hotel, in the same room.

The hotel sits in a great spot, with sights just a walk away. The staff were friendly, answered questions and requests quickly, always smiling and welcoming. They arranged a transfer from the airport, which was very convenient. Our room was small but cozy, and the bed was comfortable. Cleaning came daily, though we asked it not to be done every day. The room had a tiny fridge, dishes, utensils, a kettle, and tea/coffee packets. Breakfast in the morning was enough, and when we left early for a tour they packed a lunch box for us. At the reception downstairs there was free chacha, which we sometimes took for dinner 😊 We relaxed well, thanks to the staff. We recommend this hotel. The only downside was that during the last three days it was cold in our room even though it was warm outside; the radiators wouldn’t turn on, but the staff kindly provided a heater and we used it.

“a good location and fairly helpful staff but ruined by the room I got put in”

The hotel was clean and the basic facilities were good; the location was excellent and the staff were generally friendly and helpful. I requested a room with a view but was assigned a dark room with only a stone wall to look at! Even though many rooms with a view were available, they said it was my fault and that the booking I made couldn’t be changed. They didn’t give a clear reason, just that all rooms were booked, yet that evening two girls arrived, asked to see a room with a view before moving in, and got it, so clearly there were available rooms. I found my room depressing and it ruined my stay.

The location is perfect, and the breakfast is more than enough! The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Also, if you can request a room at the front, the view is absolutely magnificent. Highly recommended!. Everything is good
